Ralph Lorusso Obituary

Ralph Lorusso, 81, formerly of 340 Lake Ave., devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Friday, June 1st, in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Ralph's wife Maria (Menonna) Lorusso passed away in 1995.

He is survived by his devoted children, Leonard "Dino" Lorusso and his wife Robin, Ralph Lorusso, Jr. and his wife Lorie, all of Millbury, Anthony Lorusso and his wife Gerri of Shrewsbury, Marie Demma and her husband Arthur of Worcester, Catherine "Nella" Johnson and her husband John of Rochester, MA; three sisters, Elizabeth D'Ambrosio of Worcester, Laura Ventresca of Fresno, Calif and Michelina Brescia of Shrewsbury; 15 adored grandchildren; 7 cherished great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His parents, Leonard and Maria (DeFeudis) Lorusso, and a sister, Lena Lorusso predeceased him. He was born in Vieste, Province of Foggia, Italy, grew up in Italy, served in the Italian Army during World War II and moved to Worcester in 1955.

He was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Ralph loved to garden, and make homemade wine. He also enjoyed music, dancing and traveling to Boca Raton, Florida.

Ralph's funeral will be held Monday, June 4th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. A period of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 4th prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame LTC, Sunshine Fund, 555 Plantation St. 01605.
