Ralph Oliveri Obituary

Ralph Oliveri, 82

WORCESTER - Ralph Oliveri, 82, passed away at Rose Monahan Hospice Home on Monday, November 24, after a one-week battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Worcester on March 23, 1932 to Guiseppi and Maria (Scianame) Oliveri from Viesta, Italy.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline C. (Dion) Oliveri, 3 sons, David Oliveri and his wife, Cathy, Ralph Oliveri and Stephen Oliveri and his wife, Cheryl all of Hubbardston; his daughter, Susan and her husband, Joseph Mathews of Worcester; 4 grandsons, Jason Bolack, Aaron and Evan Oliveri and Joshua Mathews; 3 granddaughters, Erica and Michelle Oliveri and Katherine Mathews; his sister, Angie DePietro; and many nieces and nephews, but was especially close with Robert and David Carlson who lost their father at a young age. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lillian Allison, Camille Carlson, Antoinette Frietsh and his only brother, Joseph.

He was a veteran of the Korean War where he was stationed in Germany. He worked many years as a tool die machinist at Worcester Taper Pin, Smith Valve and Elkay, but most importantly, he carefully maintained his home of 50 years on Kimball St. in Worcester. He was a caring husband, fun, affectionate father and extremely involved and loving grandfather. He was an accomplished woodworker, creating wooden duck decoys and carrousel horses. A avid outdoorsman, Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to travel and toured most of this country with his wife and dogs in his "coach" for many years. He took joy in getting a bargain and would travel far and wide to get one! He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Ralph's family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 29, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Saint George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. To share a memory or leave an online condolence, please visit
