Raymond Samek Obituary
NORTH BROOKFIELD - Raymond Samek, 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at home after a lengthy illness. Raymond was born in North Hampton on July 14, 1939, the youngest of three sons. He leaves his brothers, Bernard Samek of Brimfield and John Samek of Agawam; a daughter, Cindy Larson of West Brookfield; sons, John J. Samek of Hardwick, Michael Samek and Bobby Jo Samek both of Warren; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Sandra J. (Mason) Samek in 2000 and his son Raymond (Beaver) Samek in 2010. Ray had been a business man all of his life running a junk yard and landfill in both North Brookfield and Warren. Later he began farming in Brimfield in the mid 70's before moving his farm/garden business to North Brookfield and finally to West Brookfield in the mid 90's. He had a passion for work and continued to do so until very recently when he became too ill to make it to the Stand on a regular basis. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St.Paul's Cemetery, Maple St., Warren. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., N. John and family we are so sorry for your loss. We knew him for a long time farming and from the stand in West Brookfield. I knew when I sent Paul to the farm stand and he didn't come back for awhile that Ray must be there and they were talking about farming. I know he will be missed by many.
