Raymond F. Sarsfield

WORCESTER - Raymond F. Sarsfield, 60, of Worcester, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his home after an illness.

He leaves two children, Monica Sarsfield and Raymond F. Sarsfield Jr., both of Lisbon, N.H., three grandchildren, Kyra and Erica Sarsfield, and Rachael Harrington; three sisters, Maureen Sarsfield Mendoza of Worcester, Kathleen Dodge of Vermont, and Christine Sarsfield of Grafton. His former wife, Susan M. (Poirier) Sarsfield, and his brother, Michael Sarsfield, predeceased him.

Raymond was born in Worcester, son of Fred R. and Marion T. (Looney) Sarsfield, and lived in Worcester most of his life.

He attended Sacred Heart Academy, Forest-Grove Junior High School and Burncoat High School.

Raymond worked for Philip P. Massad Movers in Worcester for more than 20 years. He was also a painter for many years with Connell Painting Co. of Dennis Port on Cape Cod.

He was an avid fan of Massachusetts professional sports teams, especially the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing.

The funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 22, at Noon at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.

I went to Sacred Heart Grammar School with Raymond and I have always remembered him and what a great kid he was way back then. REST IN PEACE RAYMOND!
