Richard Dube Obituary
SHREWSBURY - Richard J. "Richie" Dube, Jr, 24, of Shrewsbury died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
Richie was born on May 2, 1991, in Worcester, son of Richard J. Dube, Sr. and Cynthia A. (Kosak) Dube. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 2009. While in high school, he was a talented athlete who played baseball and was known as the energetic "punt returner man" for the football team. He attended Worcester State University where he was majoring in History, and continuing his love for football while achieving the honor of being a pre-season All-American punt returner.
Richie's personality was bigger than life. When he walked into a room, the room always became brighter with fun and laughter. He was charming, intelligent and motivated. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his siblings who cared so much about him.
He leaves his loving family: his parents, Richard J. Dube, Sr. of Worcester and Cynthia A. (Kosak) Dube of Shrewsbury; Molly Williams and her husband, T.J. of Worcester, Ryan J. Dube, Meredith E. Dube, Kevin P. Dube, all of Shrewsbury, and Jacqueline R. Dube of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Bernardine M. (O'Neil) of Yarmouth Port; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Richie's family on Monday, May 18, 2015, from 4-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral will be on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, with his funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be private. In honor of Richie and his love of sports, please kindly make a donation in his memory to the Shrewsbury Athletic Booster Club, 64 Holden Street, Shrewsbury, MA, 01545. My sincere condolences to the entire Dube family. Rich was a close friend of mine growing up in Shrewsbury, and I was truly hurt when I heard this news. Rich was an excellent athlete, and great person. I will never forget the times we shared at a young age. I am so sorry--you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Rich and Family: So sorry to hear about Rich Jr. We still have fond memories of Derek and Rich playing little league together when you were coaching their team. The kids had a lot of fun together learning to playing baseball. He will be missed by all who knew him.
