Robert Ducharme Obituary
Worcester - Robert F. Ducharme Sr., 80, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his son's home on Friday, August 24th with his family by his side. Robert died 10 years to the day of his beloved wife's passing.
Mr. Ducharme was married for 49 years to the late Maureen E. (Martin) Ducharme, who died in 2008. He is survived by three sons, Stephen G. Ducharme and his wife, Linda of Leicester, James M. Ducharme and his wife, Jean of Worcester, Robert F. Ducharme Jr. and his wife, Carla of Holden; two daughters, Maryellen D. Ferranti and her husband, James of Manchester, CT and Julieann M. Sweet and her husband, Joseph of Sterling; a brother, Francis A. Ducharme Jr. of Rutland; a sister, Marguerite Heavey of North Fort Myers, FL; his significant other, Judy St. Pierre; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Ducharme was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis A. and Mary E. (Stone) Ducharme and is also predeceased by a brother, Claude Ducharme and his good friends, Malcolm and Bea Coleman. Robert attended Worcester Boys Trade High School, then he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Ducharme worked for the former J.J. Nissen Company for over 25 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a former member of the Auburn/Webster Lodge of Elks. Robert enjoyed dancing and playing horseshoes, but he especially enjoyed the time that he was able to spend with his family and friends while camping for many years at Craig's RV park in Florida.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 28th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 27th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Ducharme may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association 26 Broadway 14th Floor New York, NY 1004.

Bob was a genuine happy go lucky guy. Always a big warm Merry Christmas!for everyone he met. Full of jokes and laughter,he was someone you couldn't forget. He was a great example of a good man, husband and father.He will be missed by many.You'll always be in our hearts, Bob.

Bob and I were good friends through his best friends, Mac and Bea Coleman and I last saw him in Arizona when we had lunch with he and Judy in Litchfield park. Bob and I were both on duty with the Air Force in French Morrocco but did not know each other until I ran into him at Mac and Beas home in 1996. We reminisced about our Air Force duties and discovered we were both in Morrocco at the same time unbeknounst to each other at the time. I flew RC planes with Bob and Mac in Arizona and built him and Mac a plane each that they flew many times. I remember Bob as a kind and gentle guy who would help anyone who would ask. I will remember him in my prayers.
