He was a great doctor. A true friend who was always there for me. My husband used to talk about the old times, and I enjoyed listening to his stories. Dr. Perry was a blessing to all of us that really knew him.

It's hard to believe it has been three years. He was part of our family and lived with my mother in Florida while doing his residency. Prayers go out to his sons that he was so proud of, he will never be forgotten

I am shocked. Dr. Perry was the absolute best, most caring doctor I have ever known. When he moved out to Emerald Island, I could no longer remain his patient. After searching for a doctor as caring as he was and as intelligent and knowledgeable, I decided that I will drive that long distance because he is worth it. That's why I was looking him up just now. This note of sympathy to his family and all the patients who lost a fabulous physician is late but as heartfelt as it could be. I'm so down but will pray for him. What a great, great man.

I cried as I found this online tonight. I was hoping that I'd find him practicing somewhere else in Eastern NC after leaving Med-First in Emerald Isle. I'd have driven the state to have him again as my doctor. I had no idea he was ill, so like him to smile, laugh and carry on. He was a wonderful, kind, compassionate Doctor. He held my hand many times over the 4 years he was my Doctor and the go-to Doctor for my now 18 year old. She has some mental health issues and it's hard to find a Doctor who has the patience and takes the time to truly develop a relationship with these types of children, and she loved and trusted him. He literally saved my life in January 2014, and I want his family to know he will be remembered and missed by those he touched during his too short time on this earth. He had a passion for his profession, it was evidenced during my many visits to him as I battled serious chronic health issues. Always kind, always attentive, always patient. May God continue to bless your family and give you comfort. I always felt his hands and mind were gifted by the Great Healer himself.

Wow, I'm absolutely shocked. There are no words to say, nor enough thoughts to think that would give justice to what an amazing man and physician he was. As a kid, he was my first doctor growing up in the mid 90's when he started practicing in Wilmington. I fondly remember his dry sense of humor and ability to put a smile even on the most stoic of faces. I count him amongst the select few that inspired me to enter a career in medicine. It makes me sad that now he won't be able to see how much of an influence he had on my life. If only I knew about his illness, I would've loved to have had the privilege of speaking with him one last time. The world has lost a legend. Rest in peace Dr. Perry, I'll see you on the other side.

so sad to hear that Dr. Perry has passed away. when I first moved here from New York City, he was the one I choose to be my doctor. Since he too was from the north. We had so much fun talking about the old days and who he knew. Until today I can not find a doctor like him. May you rest in peace Dr. Perry, you are one of a kind.

I'm so saddened to learn of Roberts passing. We met when he taught at North High in Worcester, Ma. Our relationship grew and he became part of my family, giving extra time and attention to my toddler niece, I should have known he'd specialize in Pediatrics. We moved to Florida while he studied, I knew clearly his pursuit in medicine would lead to a successful journey in research, treatment and practice for those fortunate to be under his care. I will keep those many years of loving memories close to my heart. He sought his dream, and for that I feel comfort. May you rest in Peace Robert!
