Robert L. Servant, 73

Berlin, MD - Robert L. Servant, 73, formerly of Gettysburg, PA and formerly of Southbridge, passed away on Friday, March 4th, at Brandywine at Fenwick Island, Selbeyville, DE, after a battle with lung cancer.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Georgia (Young) Servant; his son, Kevin R. Servant and his wife Kristy of Gettysburg, PA; his three daughters, Gina A. Thompson-Servant and her spouse Lori of Berlin, MD, Rebecca L. Funk and her husband Andrew of Ellicott City, MD and Angela M. Worley and her husband Aaron of New Market, MD; his brother, Roland Servant of Sturbridge; his sister, Pauline Julian of Sturbridge; his ten grandchildren, Brittney, Drew, Courtney, Bryce, Cooper, Isabella, Gabriella, Beckett, Dominic and Averee; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Southbridge on Jan. 10, 1943 the son of the late Leon and Lillian (Lescarbeau) Servant. He was a 1961 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. Bob entered the military in 1961, completed his basic training at Parris Island and combat training at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and was transferred and stationed at Beaufort, South Carolina. He served honorably as a Marine in Vietnam. Bob and Georgia were married in Southbridge on October 8, 1966.

Bob was a successful entrepreneur, creating Servant & Co, a retail business selling Civil War Re-enactment uniforms and accoutrements in Gettysburg, Pa. Bob enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially baseball and golf. More than anything he loved his wife, Georgia and spending time with his children and grandchildren whom adore him.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 12th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 12:00pm in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial with military honors will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Saturday, March 12th, from 9:30 to 11:30am, prior to the Mass.
