Robert J. Wilhelmi, 82

SOUTH YARMOUTH - Robert J. Wilhelmi, 82 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 8, 2016 from cancer.

Robert was born and raised in Worcester, Ma in 1933. He was the son of the late Loretta and Roswell Wilhelmi. He leaves his loving wife Cecile T (Dumas) Wilhelmi of 60 years of South Yarmouth. He was the dedicated father of 6 Children, two daughters Denise Wilhelmi of South Yarmouth, Dianne Schiavone of Worcester. Four Sons Paul Wilhelmi and his wife Donna of Grafton, Jack Wilhelmi and his wife Christine of Worcester, Karl Wilhelmi of South Yarmouth and Rob Wilhelmi and his partner Shelly of Worcester. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Mae Metevier of Worcester and his brother Howard Wilhelmi. Robert also leaves 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was a graduate of Commerce High School, in Worcester. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1955. Robert was a salesman in the food industry in the New England Area for many years during his working career.

He was a longtime resident of Worcester, MA retiring to South Yarmouth in 1996.

Visiting hours will be held at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 on Thursday, August 11 from 9:30 -11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. Burial will be held on Friday, August 12 at 1:00 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA with honors.
