Ronald Lemoine Obituary

Ronald B. Lemoine, 69

AUBURN - Ronald B. Lemoine, 69, of Auburn passed away Friday, February 14th, 2014 after a valiant battle with cancer with the family he loved so much gathered by his side.

Ronald was born in Worcester, the son of Benjamin and Rita (Brodeur) Lemoine. He graduated from Auburn Senior High in 1962, where he was a T & G Hockey All Star. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Business from Northeastern University in 1967. Ron then joined the U. S. Army Reserves serving his country from 1968 to 1973. He has lived most of his life in Auburn.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Bonnie H. (Shugrue) Lemoine; three children that were his world, Christopher Lemoine and his wife Stacy of Rutland, Jennifer Briggs and her husband Paul of Lynnfield, Jeremy Lemoine and his wife Marissa of Oxford; seven grandchildren that cherished "Pa", Garrett, Ross, Evan, Maura, Aidan, Keely and Lily; a sister, Donna Holloway of Auburn; Neices, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ronald worked in various positions for the UPS Corporation in the Shrewsbury plant many years before retiring in 2007.

During his children's young years, Ron could be found most often at the Auburn Ice Rink, where he taught his kids and hundreds of others the game of Hockey. Many also knew him for his love of "The Garden" and the countless times he enjoyed being outside and spending time with his buddies. Ron was so proud of his French Heritage, learning about history and traditions and passing them on to family which was so very important to him, especially his grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart. Ron found so much pride in watching his grandchildren grow and being with them. Nothing made him happier. To his grandchildren, "Pa" was an inspiration and made sure they had everything. Bonnie was also his life for 44 years. He loved to travel with her and would often be found spending the day at the casino whenever they felt the urge. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and westerns and was a member of the Teamsters Local 170.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Tuesday, February 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Wednesday, February 19th from the funeral home with a procession to Saint John's Church, 40 Temple Street where his Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron's name to the Patrick Comer Courage Foundation, PO BOX 282, Princeton, MA 01541-0282

The Lemoine family would like to thank the Jacob Ichabod Washburn Hospice House and Jewish Healthcare Hospice for the wonderful care, comfort and compassion they provided our family during a difficult time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Bonnie and family,
Bob and I send our paryers and thoughts to you and your family. From the wonderful tribute to Ron in his obituary, i can see that his family was his world. You will find consolation from the love that you have in you family.
I was a classmate of Ron's at Auburn High. My maiden name is Hoag. We had a wonderful group of friends in high school when life was innocent and full of fun. I saw Ron at our 50th reunion and he looked fabulous. Bob and I spent time talking about our lives since graduation. He talked about his love for hockey. Bob knew Ron from Jr. High and then he moved to Walpole. Bob and I connected after college and have been married for 44 years.
Please know thatt we are thinking of you during these very tough times. Ron was a great guy and a true gentleman.
Fondly,

Mrs. Lemoine, Jeremy, Chris, Jen & family- I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a great guy and the best hockey coach I ever had. He turned a group of pee wee bums who could hardly skate and turned us in to a championship winning team.
