Ruth Muller Obituary

Ruth Atwood Muller, of Shaker Village, who came to Harvard as a librarian during World War II, died on October 31 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, after a short illness. She was 97.

Born in Worcester on June 27, 1909, Ruth Muller was a daughter of Judge Harry Atwood and Louise Gale Atwood. She attended schools in Worcester and received a BA degree from Middlebury College, after which she attended library school. Ruth met her husband of 59 years, Erhart Muller, at a party in Harvard. They were married on Nantucket; she spent the rest of her life in the couple's lovingly restored house in Shaker Village.

A memorial service will be held in the future. Instead of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Harvard Public Library, Harvard Common, Harvard 01451 or the Ayer Public Library, 26 East Main Street, Ayer 01432. Arrangements by Badger Funeral Home, Littleton.
