Sandra Heckman Obituary
Worcester - Sandra "Sandy" (Novak) Heckman, 62 of Worcester, passed away peacefully Friday, December 13, 2019 after a period of declining health.
Sandra was born in Worcester, daughter of Edward C and Julia L. (Dondero) Novak. Sandy worked all her life in service to the general public. She notably owned and operated the Crescent Café for many years before retiring.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 18 years, David W. Heckman; two daughters, Jennifer Murphy of Oxford, Danyle Holmes and her husband Galen "Nippa" of Dudley; two step-sons, David and Daniel Heckman, both of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Peter Novak and his wife Linda, Edward Novak and Frank Novak; two grandchildren Keller and Gianna; several nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends. She was happiest spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family and friends.
A period of calling hours will be celebrated this coming Sunday, December 22nd from 2 to 3 pm followed by a prayer service at 3 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 1295 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02215.

Sandy was an amazing friend to me,she always made the effort to stay in touch and iam so thankful that i did! Her Dad and Sandy were so kind to me growing up, i will never ever forget her. Danyle , Jennifer,Keller,and little Gianna were the jewels in her crown and she wore that crown so proudly. She is so missed, my very deepest condolences to her whole family.
