Thomas Green Obituary
He was born July 7, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Theresa (Spanfelner) Green.
Thomas served in the United States Navy during World War II in the areas of American, European, African, Middle Eastern, Asiatic, and Pacific theaters. He was a Police Sgt. for the City of Chicago then retired to Jacksonville in 1981. He enjoyed spending time at the gym, playing chess, and reading as well as making daily visits to the library to read.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mary Green Black and Peggy Green Harries.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Frances P. Green of Jacksonville; sons, James E. Green and Thomas M. Green, both of Jacksonville; a sister, Joan Green Ross of Chicago; sister-in-law, Jean Petri of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Rather than customary condolences, memorials may be made to the Jacksonville Public Library, 502 S. Jackson St., Jacksonville, Texas 75766.
