I first met Mr. Noonan when I was a young ADA in Worcester. The first thing he said to me after introducing himself was, "let me know if there is anything I can do for you." Over the next 30 years when I would encounter him at the courthouse or out and about he would always conclude our conversation with the same refrain, "let me know if there is anything I can do for you." That spoke to who he was as a person, always willing to help. He will be greatly missed and a little of the light has gone out in Worcester County with Mr. Noonan's passing!

Tom Noonan was a Worcester institution, who welcomed a Boston TV reporter whenever I ventured west of 495 to cover an arraignment or trial in Worcester County.
I will miss his smile and the twinkle in his eye whenever I walked into the clerk's office looking for some information that I probably had no right seeking. But Tom would always do his best to point me in the right direction and share some laughs in the process.
Farewell friend, you will be missed by me and many others - TV reporters and other denizens of the courthouse.
My condolences to Tom's family and the County of Worcester.

There was never a more true friend and gentleman to all. To you Mr. Noonan we raise:
The Parting Glass
Of all the money that e'er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that e'er I've done,
Alas! it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit
To mem'ry now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all.
Of all the comrades that e'er I had,
They are sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had,
They would wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot,
That I should rise and you should not,
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call,
Good night and joy be with you all.
A man may drink and not be drunk,
A man may fight and not be slain,
A man may court a pretty girl,
And perhaps be welcome back again.
But since it has so ought to be,
By a time to rise and a time to fall,
Come fill to me the parting glass,
Good night and joy be with you all.
Good night and joy be with you all.

Your life was considerably better if you were fortunate enough to have known Tom Noonan. He exuded true grace and character in all aspects of his own life and most notably he treated everyone he encountered with a high level of respect. He always went out of his way to mentor the younger police officers and Troopers and his vast knowledge and wisdom had a resounding impact, His deep faith in God and Country was contagious and his compassionate admiration for his fellow man is a legacy we should all strive to emulate. You have served us well Thomas ......

I had the absolute pleasure of working in the same courthouse as Tom. He was quite an amazing character who loved his family first and foremost and his position secondarily in the clerks office. He truly was an amazing person with a wonderful personality and NEVER ever pretentious. He was just a common guy who wanted to be treated like any other common person. I will miss his wit and compassion immensely. What a GREAT guy, what a GREAT family man and what a GREAT example of Christian living and LOVE of GOD! REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MY FRIEND!
