W. Paul Forcier

SOUTHBRIDGE - Southbridge...W. Paul "Uncle Paul" Forcier, 76, died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Harrington Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Shirley A. (Goudreau) Forcier. They were married February 20, 1960. He is survived by his 5 sons Michael Forcier of Southbridge, James "Jim" Forcier of Sturbridge, Gary Forcier and his wife Jessica of Southbridge, Russell and his wife Sylvia Forcier of Brimfield, Jeffrey "Jeff" and his wife Trish Forcier of Quinebaug, CT, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 3 brothers Donald Forcier of Holland, Glenn Forcier of Southbridge, and John Forcier of Worcester, and 2 sisters Ann Forcier-Carroll of Orange, MA, and Susan Paradise of Jamestown, RI, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas Forcier of Oldsmar, FL who died in 2012.

Paul was born in Northbridge November 24, 1937, son of the late Wilfred H. and Aurora (Brunelle) Forcier, and moved here at a young age. He was a member of Notre Dame Church and was educated at the former Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 7 years, and 2 years in the National Guard. He was a Police Office for the Town of Southbridge for 21 years, retiring in 1990. He also worked for many years as the delivery man for Lucy's Laundry & Cleaners, he worked security at Harrington Memorial Hospital and years ago as a milkman for Dresser Hill Dairy Farm in Charlton. Paul was a member of the De Triana Council Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. He was kind, had a great sense of humor, and was affectionately known around Southbridge as "Uncle Paul".

The funeral will be Thursday, April 24, 2014, from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy Street Southbridge, with a Mass at 10AM at Notre Dame Church 446 Main Street Southbridge. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private. It is hard to believe that Paul is gone. I had the privilege of having worked with him and going hunting and fishing with him. Paul was always able to make you laugh no matter what the situation. We have definitely lost one of the best. Paul was such a good friend to everyone he met. We had some fun times on Sayles St. with the whole Forcier clan.
