Bill Maykel was not always easy..
...to the two young lady attendants who trundelled out into the middle of a frozen-solid pond to retrieve a fish for him...
...to the construction worker who wound up in his waiting room holding onto one of the massive pillars that held the building up... Waiting for Bill to show up and quite unable to breathe...
There are so many lives that have been touched by Bill Maykel with skill in his profession, by his sense of humor by his kindness and generosity. I wish this world many wacky and loveable Bill Maykel's.

I would describe Bill Maykel as colorful... And I think he would approve!
The other thing I'd say... was that he was forever HAPPY and he shared it with the world. It was his JOY of being FILLED with LIFE and HUMOR that HE gave to each of us..
UNSTOPPABLE ENERGY that he could NO MORE control than TREES can stop turning RED in AUTUMN!
I have learned many things from our FRIEND and KIND SPIRIT, DR. Maykel... keep your HEART OPEN, LOVE ALL who are dear to you and MAKE OTHERS LAUGH... Because laughter HEALS!
LOVE EVERYTHING .. because God knows the place in which you and I still NEED to HEAL.
BE A BRAVE MAYKELETTE! Follow King Willie's example... share the KNOWLEDGE AND KINDNESS HE gave to you with the person NEXT to you. If we all do this, the entire WORLD WILL HEAL!
Love NATURE for it is GOD'S GIFT TO US ...and Lastly, LOVE YOURSELF because that's where DR. MAYKEL did his FINEST work.
EAT a little LESS;
LOVE Everyone you meet
Love NATURE and all Little&Big FISHES
and LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF AND ALL THOSE NEAR AND DEAR TO YOU.
TAKE SOME TIME EACH DAY AND SEND A LITTLE LOVE FROM YOUR HEART TO THAT PERSON WHO IS LOVED... OR STRUGGLING. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER and We WILL ALL HEAL TOGETHER.
Dear King Willie (as I call him),
You have showed us by your excellent and loving ways just how we should be living our lives each day..... And now it,sadly, is up to us to follow your humorous and energetic example that you have left for us.
I am sure that I am not the only one who feels so honored and grateful for the way you have chosen to live a healthy and happy life and to educate the rest of us with your caring humor. I will miss you horribly. Perhaps some day we will meet up on the other side and I am sure you will have found a fantabulous fishing stream that you can share with all "YOUR FAMILY WHO LOVE AND HONOR YOU". Be overjoyed as always and we shall meet once again. LOVE TO YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN... IT HAS BEEN MY SINCERE PLEASURE. I WILL MISS YOU.

i am so sad to say that I just found about Bill’s passing today.
I loved and trusted Dr. Maykel as my doctor and friend for 25 years. There is no one who can replace him or the work he did.
I will miss him and his jokes!
He was a loving and kind man who would adjusted me perfectly every time and always made me feel better instantly!
My heart goes out to Deb and his family for he will truly be missed!
He was a super light being!!

Linda and family, I just learned of your brothers passing and want to extend my sincere sympathy. I remember Dr. Bill Maykel speaking to may class at QCC (dental hygiene program) back in 1981 on holistic health. I knew of the special gift he offered his patients and although I did not know him personally, I know he will be greatly missed by his patients and the community. I understand he was a truly remarkable facilitator of healing.
My condolences. Jane Gauthier

Sadly, I just recently found out about Dr. Maykel's passing. Although I only knew him as an occasional patient, when I first met him years ago, it only took a few moments to sense he was "not like everyone else" as in very unique. Someone who was not afraid to think outside of the box. I'm not surprised to see the long list of tributes to Bill, from his many close friend. And I'm sure he had so many. Heartfelt condolences to his companion and family.
Sincerest,
Brian Lawrence

I am so blessed to have had a connection with him in this plane of existence. From our many wonderful conversations I know Dr Bill has moved on from the limitations of this incarnation and is now free to explore the true nature of his being in all of his amazing Glory. I look forward to his continued contribuation to all of creation from above the veil. So many people mourn his loss and I know he would never want any of us to feel pain and would want all of us to celebrate his graduation from earth school. God bless my very dear friend. Words can hardly convey how much my wife and I will miss Bill. His loss cuts deep as we so much loved, not only “Dr. Bill” the healer, but the man himself. He touched us all so profoundly with his light, laughter, intellect, and wit. We both experienced, inexplicable healing after healing with Bill over the last twenty plus years. What a beautiful man. How blessed I am to have known Bill, not only as my doctor but to have known him as my friend. Over the years I was fortunate to share many adventures with Bill, fly-fishing the wild rivers, lakes, and ponds of northern Maine. Fly-rod in hand, wild eyed, passionate, and ready for an adventure best describes Bill as we took to the woods. Being with him in Mother Nature (“the Big Woman” as he called it), catching that look in his eyes when stalking wild, native brook-trout was like plugging into 10,000 volts of electricity. How lucky am I to have spent quality time in “God’s Country” with such a quality and truly spiritual man. His enthusiasm for life was contagious. His love for his daughters Tiffany and Vanessa and grandchildren and Deb was always present in stories he would share. The world has lost a medical genius and extraordinary healer. I am deeply honored to have known you Bill and to have you as a friend. God Bless. Rest in Peace. I (we both) love you.

Shocked does not even describe how Mark and I are reacting to this news. We had been patients of Bill's since 1978. His work was thorough, insightful, was a master at his profession and focused. He would often recount the time we called him on a Sunday when Mark was run over by our tractor and he promptly told us to meet him at the office immediately. That is dedication to your clients. To the family and those who worked with him we share you sadness and I am sure your disbelief. We are thinking of you as you go through this difficult time.

Dear Deb and the Maykel family, I was so shocked and saddened by the news of our world loosing Dr. Bill! He was a gifted healer and a loving, kind humanitarian. My deepest sympathies go out to you all. He will be so missed by so many. I have been a patient for 16 years starting at his office in Wellesley. He was always so cheerful and friendly asking about your life in general. When we discovered we both loved to ski the first question he would ask in the winter was have you skied yet this year and where? Then he would share where he had recently skied. He always was upbeat and optimistic and seemed to love life and learning and of course helping people. Dr. Bill helped me so much over the years I came to depend on him for my every 3 month appointment fix. I don't know what I will do now that he is gone. I feel my life was so much better with him in it both physically and mentally. Dr. Bill seemed to be ageless. His youthfulness inspired me. I felt like he would be there for me and all of us forever. This makes it all the more a shock that we won't see him again. I think we can all keep Dr. Bills spirit alive especially with all these wonderful memories posted here today. I would like to think he is helping all the people in Heaven. Maybe God needs Dr. Bill more than he thinks we do now. God bless you Dr. Bill!! Thank you for helping us all these years. You will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with you Deb and the Maykel family!

For almost 20 years I have had the great fortune to have Dr. Maykel in my life, not only as an incredibly gifted healer, but someone I considered a good friend. He was telling me an off color joke one day, and told his assistant it was ok because I was like his little sister. Words cannot possibly express how I, like so many others will miss him. Thank you, Dr. Bill. Much love and Godspeed.

Eileen and I are heartbroken. We love Dr Maykel...not just because he kept putting us back together like Humpty Dumpty...but because of his beautiful energy. We always felt better just walking his office. We're sure he's flying with the angels now...while are left here to muck about. But apparently it was his time to fly away.
We sincerely hope he continues to work on his jokes. By the time we get to see him again, we expect him to have his act down pat.
Much love to Deb and all his family.

I've always given people who could make me laugh a wide berth and Dr. Maykel always had a new jokes at every visit. Nothing like hearing the latest joke while you were twisted around like a pretzel.
He always fixed me when I hobbled in and he helped me de-code what kept going awry and required the fixing. Never met anyone like him and as I write this, I think of him fondly and smile. He cared.
Fair thee well my friend, may you be well received.

We were so devastatingly shocked and saddened to hear of Bill’s passing. He was way too young to be taken from this world; and Bill had so much more to give. Bill was a wonderful person and a great, caring friend and colleague for over 35 years. He derived such tremendous pride and pleasure from helping to heal so many patients, many of whom had been unable to receive help elsewhere. Bill was the glue that kept both of us together with all of our own physical ailments, always willing to see us whenever needed. Billy was an uncommonly accepting and nonjudgmental person; and he was so kind and giving. When Willie (to me, Gary, he was “Willie”) and I went fishing, I marveled at his jumping from rock to rock, pulling in fish; while my line sat idly in the water. We loved Bill Maykel and to Debbie, the entire extended Maykel family, and all of Bill’s many friends we wish comfort and healing during this most difficult time.

What we'll miss the most: The endless jokes, laughter, love and fun. My favorite characteristic of Billy was his sense of humor and seemingly bottomless pit of jokes. Jokes known to be a little corny, sometimes hard to follow, sometimes very dirty, but ALWAYS genuine, leaving you with a smile and feeling better about yourself and life. Come to think of it, Billy was kinda a lot like the jokes he loved to tell. He was a gifted healer, a comedian, a father, a grandfather, a friend, a Cuzzie. He will be forever remembered and truly missed in our household. We love you Cuzzies and we are thinking of you all

I am deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Bill’s passing. I met him 40 years ago when he was just starting out– he helped me then and I never forgot him. When recently involved in a car accident, I was so glad to reconnect with him. So intelligent and caring and hopeful-- a true healer of body, mind and spirit. His energy was intense but wrapped in a calm manner that just made you feel good. And of course, the corny jokes always drew a smile. He was the best and I will miss him dearly. Deb, my heart goes out to you– your light will shine again.
Sincere condolences to his loving family. I will offer up prayers for Dr. Bill, but I don’t think he needs them.

My deepest condolences to family and friends. Dr. Maykel was and is a one of a kind soul and will be deeply missed here on earth. A great healer and MIRACLE WORKER, he took a great interest in each and every one of his patients, including 4 of us in our family. We supported each others work and he even took the time to watch a film I produced and then sell some copies at his work. I will always remember when I hurt my left wrist playing basketball and it was weak and in pain for months. Dr. Maykel took my wrist in his hands, did a couple of quick adjustments, and it was instantly healed and hasn't bothered me since. I am shocked and saddened at his sudden departure and can only hope that others will be inspired to follow closely in his footsteps.

Our family was in disbelief and saddened to hear of Dr. Maykel’s passing. We are grateful to have had him a part of our lives these past 30 years. He kept us healthy and working as he treated us through accidents and ailments, all while making us feel like family, not just patients. We will miss his quick wit, his corny jokes, but most of all his vast knowledge and his amazing ability to make each us feel so much better. My son will miss his warmth and patience when all Braden wanted to do while he was in the office was pretend to be just like Dr. Bill. Taking ‘notes’ on his clip board and making his grandmother lay on the floor for her ‘adjustment.’ We will all miss him immensely. We send our condolences to his family, friends and office staff. We know that nothing will ever be the same, but hopefully the knowledge of how much he helped people and cared for all of you will help you through this difficult time.

You came to my rescue both physically and emotionally when I needed healing and especially when I needed to relocate my salon back in 2010. Offering my heartfelt condolences with love and friendship. Although I never had the pleasure of utilizing his medical services, I learned to trust his judgement in other areas. Years ago, I was in Worcester and was looking for a place to grab a quick lunch. I came upon a restaurant called El Basha, but had my doubts about the place because there appeared to be only one person dining in the entire restaurant. Well I entered and found Billy Maykel finishing a kibbee sandwich and knew I had found the right place! May He Rest In Peace

A warm, radiant light has been extinguished with the passing of Bill Maykel. I’m so deeply sorry to hear this news. I began as a patient with him at 15 years old and I grew to consider him like a family member during the last 29 years. My husband and children also became patients of his. His vast knowledge and revolutionary approach to Chiropractic/AK had an enormously positive impact on our health. I echo the many others who have shared his healing abilities. But, more than that he was a compassionate listener who truly had a love for his family and a zest for life. His eyes would light up as he shared stories of his experiences or of his youth. He bursted with pride for his girls; delighting in their accomplishments. He lit up when he shared his recent experiences as a grandfather—and the gift it was to hold them and watch them grow. He loved and embraced others with his whole being. What a gift he was to all who knew him. Deb and family, please accept our deepest condolences. May you be embraced by love and light and lots of funny stories as you reflect on his life. Love, Megs and family

Deb and the Maykel family. I am still in shock and heartbroken. My family and I have been blessed to have been patients since 1982. First bringing my son when he was 12 and he remained a patient all these years, making our quality of life so much better. My 95 year old mom has also been a patient and I know Dr. Maykel has played a huge role for her longevity. He always fixed us like no other. But also lucky enough to have worked for Dr. Maykel and learned so much from him. But most of all his friendship to us was so special. He was the best and will be dearly missed.
Deb, my love and heartfelt sympathy to you and his family in this difficult time.
Love,
Maddy

I am still trying to process the loss of this wonderful man. As I read through these messages it is so beautifully expressed that his spirit touched everyone he met. His jokes, his smile, his wisdom and his healing enriched all of our lives and he loved sharing his God given gifts with the world, yet he always made you feel like you were the only one who mattered when you were in his care. All who knew him were blessed to have been in his presence. He was the essence of love.

I am heart sick to hear of Dr. Maykel's sudden death. I have been a very fortunate and appreciative patient for nearly 20 years. At every appointment he helped me heal, and he always made me laugh. I can't imagine that I'll never see him again. I will miss him greatly. My sincere condolences to his long time partner, Deborah, and his family.

It's hard to find a family more wonderful, more giving, more caring or more kind than the Maykels; it's in their DNA. And losing any one of them is a huge loss, not just to their family but to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing them. I send love and my heartfelt condolences to Michele and Joe Dick and the entire family at this very sad time.

My deepest condolences to the family. I was very fortunate To have worked for Dr. Maykel when first starting out as a massage therapist and his chiropractic assistant. Dr. Maykel taught me so much and even paid for continuing education. I still use this valuable education today. What a remarkable healer he was. To witness the improved health of so many patients was humbling.

My first visit to Doctor Maykel’s office was in 1984. It became obvious to me that Bill Maykel was, and still is the best Chiropractor that I have ever met. More times than I could count, I would enter Bill’s office in extreme pain and leave with great relief. Doctor Maykel was always striving to find new solutions to health problems. He was a true pioneer.
Bill was also one of my closest friend and he will be dearly missed. This is a great loss to all of us who had the pleasure of knowing the great Doctor. He is one of those that has made this world a better place to live. God Bless you Bill, you will be greatly missed.
