William Proulx Obituary
Worcester - William (Billy) Proulx, 56, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 25th, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Proulx; his daughter Lillian Richardson and her husband Ian; his daughter Wendy Mark and her husband Christopher along with their children, Trinity, Vivien and Christina; his three brothers Dan Proulx, Joe Proulx and Mike Proulx and their families; and many other lives he so greatly touched. William was predeceased by his mother and father, Grace (Skeffington) Proulx and Joseph Proulx; his brothers George Shevchuk Sr. and John Proulx; and his sister Janice Proulx.
William was born in Lowell, MA on September 3rd 1959. He moved to Worcester, MA in his early teens and never left. Worcester always has and will always be his home. During his younger years William studied many martial art forms and, as a black belt, taught Tae Kwon Do. As he grew older he became an avid pool player - his pool team eventually went on to become #1 in the city.
During the past few years he spent his time focusing on self-improvement, loving and caring for his family, and being there for all who needed a helping hand. Billy truly had the gift of gab and he enjoyed those he met daily while working as a longtime driver for Worcester Red Cab, giving everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him a better day. Moreover, he worked with people who had special needs which was the highlight of his job. Billy truly had the gift of gab.
William made a tremendous impact on all who were lucky enough to be part of his life. There will forever be a great void in the hearts of those who love him but the memories of Billy will live on for many, many lifetimes to come.
William will be cremated. Family and friends are welcome to join his Celebration of Life on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 PM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. My sympathies to the Prouix family on Billys passing. I havent seen Billy since we were sparring partners at Jae Hun Kim Tae kwon do in the 1970's but Billy is not easily forgotton. Billy was one helluva fighter. Rise up fallen fighter, Rise and take your stance again! RIP.
