Winfield Schuster Carrick

Austin, Texas - Winfield Schuster Carrick (Win Carrick) of Austin TX passed away early in the morning of June 25, 2017 after a brief course of pneumonia. He was 84.

Win was born October 16, 1932 in Worcester, MA to Margaret Schuster Carrick and W. Roy Carrick of East Douglas, MA. He graduated from Yale in 1953 and Harvard Business School in 1957. He served in the army from 1953-1955. He lectured at the University of Alberta from 1957-1958. He joined his father at the Carrick Agency from 1957-1962 in Whitinsville, MA. In 1962 he started a career with Northwestern Mutual beginning as an Assistant General Agent in St Petersburg, FL. He served as General Agent in Houston, TX from 1964-1974. He ultimately retired after owning Carrick Motors in Oxford, ME from 1974-1990.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Janet Goodwin Carrick of Austin, TX, his children Wendy Carrick, Austin, TX, Winfield (Woody) Stuart Carrick, Bend, OR and William Roy Carrick, La Quinta, CA and his grandchildren Ian Danial Carrick, Bend, OR, William Cameron Carrick, Squamish, BC, Natalie Claire Carrick, Phoenix, AZ, William Roy Carrick, La Quinta, CA, and Hannah Ann Carrick, Bend, OR and his sister Lee Carrick Dominey, Spokane, WA. He was predeceased by his brother William R. Carrick of Holden, MA.

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Douglas, MA. Memorial donations may be made to Simon Fairfield Library, 290 Main St, East Douglas, MA 01516 or to the charity of one's choice.
