Terry E. Stroschein, 64, of Tellico Village Loudon, TN passed away on July 11, 2024.
Terry graduated from Estelline High School in 1978 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State University in 1982.
Upon graduation he joined the Army Corps Of Engineers in 1983. Specializing in military construction, progressing to a Resident Engineer position and Administrative Contracting Officer. He had numerous assignments in various locations, concluding his 36-year career in Denver, CO to complete The VA Medical Center Complex in 2019.
Since his retirement he has enjoyed traveling with family and friends, collecting cars, and working on various home projects.
Terry was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tellico Village. He also enjoyed participating in the Tellico Village car and motorcycle clubs and the Tellico Village Men's Golf League. Even through retirement he maintained his licensure with the Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Shirley Stroschein.
Terry is survived by his wife Kathrine Smith; Son Dr. Kody Stroschein Capt USAF and his wife Shelby Austin; siblings Dale and Kim Stroschein, Dawn and Steve Saathoff, Todd and Shawna Stroschein, Donna and Brian Welling, along with numerous other family members and friends who loved him.
The family will receive friends for visitation at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village on Tuesday July 16 at 11:30 p.m. with memorial service immediately following officiated by Pastor Dave Talley. Terry will be laid to rest in his hometown of Estelline, South Dakota on Friday July 19.
In lieu of flowers, Terry's family requests that donations be made to his favorite charitable organizations, Samaritans Purse or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
