Angie DAVIS Obituary

DAVIS, Angie Lynia Poteete RyeAge 79, devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away February 12, 2012. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ross and Willie Mae Poteete, James Edward Rye, Charles Edward Davis; brother, Thomas Ross Poteete, Jr. and sister, Betty Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Carroll (Jim) of Whites Creek, TN; grandson, Anthony Kirby; brother, German Poteete of Springfield, TN; sisters, Virginia Jones (Chuck) of Callahan, FL, Mary Ruth Toungette (Allen) of Viera, FL, Ethel Johnson (Larry) of Dickson, TN, Grace Morris of Hendersonville, TN, Marge Poteete of Nashville, TN and Elizabeth Poteete of Nashville, TN. Lynia was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Eastland Baptist Church. She was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield; managed Dr. Pennington & Classen Medical Practice; associate with Kay Furniture and in her spare time, was an avid bowler. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 12 Noon, at Spring Hill Funeral Home, with Pastor Israel Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to the service at SPRING HILL FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216; (615) 865-1101.

I am so glad we came down to our family gathering for Thanksmas Dinner at Lynn and Jim's home on November 20, 2011 we had such a wonderful time with all of our family. I will sadly miss her everyday.
