Ann Roth Obituary

ROTH, Ann Regensburg Surrounded by her family, Ann Roth died peacefully at home in Birmingham, AL Tuesday, January 13, 2009 after living 13 years with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born February 21, 1931 in New York City. Introduced on a blind date by a friend from Birmingham, Ann met her husband and soul mate for 57 years, Pete Roth of Montgomery, AL. Ann & Pete lived in Nashville from 1962 - 1980. She was very involved in the Nashville Symphony Guild, participating in the planning of the earliest Italian Street Fairs. Ann was a member of The Temple and NCJW. She is survived by her husband, Pete; her daughter, Jackie Karr (Marshall) of Nashville, TN; her son, Rick Roth (Kit) of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Price & Morgan Karr, Richard & Jason Roth, who lovingly referred to her as "Granannie"; her brother, Andrew Regensburg (Mary-Stewart) of Pinehurst, NC; her sister-in-law, Dot Roth of New Orleans, LA, as well as cherished nieces and nephews. Ann has donated her brain to the UAB Brain Resource Program and the rest of her body to the Anatomical Donor Program at UAB. The Memorial service is to be held January 14, 2009 at 11 a.m., Temple Emanu-El, 2100 Highland Ave., Birmingham, AL 35205. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, 300 Office Park Dr., 35223 or South Highland Day Care Center, 2035 Highland Ave., 35205.

Dear Pete and Family,
Ann was such a delightful women. I enjoyed so very much knowing her.
What strength she had and you Pete such a loving caregiver.

Pete,
Ann was very lucky to have such a great caregiver and husband in you. You are a wonderful example to other family's whose loved one suffers from such a terrible disease.

Ann was such a gracious person with an infectious smile. I will always remember the good times we had at "Posh"

May you be comforted during this time of grief.
