Lascassas, TN
Betty Lytle Kelton Dodd, age 87, died January 20, 2014.
A native of Lascassas, Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by parents, Richard Adolphus (R. A.), and Betsy Nix Kelton, and brother, Richard Nix Kelton.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul Sanders Dodd; sons, Paul (Patti) Dodd, Jr., Tim (Glenda) Dodd; daughter, Ellen (William) Meredith; grandchildren, Adam (Catharine) Dodd, Matthew Dodd, Daniel Dodd, Kirk Dodd, Brandon (Bobbie Jo) Meredith, Ben (Emmy) Meredith, Kellie (Tommy) Thorburn; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dodd, Riley Dodd, Jason Meredith, Paige Meredith.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, she taught at Lascasssas School and Oakland High School, retiring after 35 years. She was a lifelong member of Lascassas Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Lascassas Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Bro. David Turner, Dr. Kenneth Summey, and Bro. David West officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to Lascassas Baptist Church Library.

Paul,Paul Jr, Tim ,Evelyn and family we were saddened to learn of Mrs. Dodd's passing. I have known her and Paul a long time, and was in the Lions club with Paul, and attended church with Paul Jr.
and Patti at Kingwood, I also worked with her brother Dick Kelton at Avco. My daughter Cynthia came by to represent our family yesterday, but such a long crowd she just signed the book. She thought very fondly of Mrs. Dodd at Oakland. We saw her in Oct .or Nov. at TOA.
May God bless all of you and peace and comfort come to all in the days to come.
