On behalf of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and POST Commission, I send my sincere condolences to the Capers family. Judge Capers was one of my instructors years ago and was a legend among the staff and alumni. I am sorry to have heard of his illness and passing and regret not being able to learn of it in time to attend the services.

From the very first day I became the Judge's caregiver it was no longer a job, but an honor. Such a fine man, such a wonderful smile. I am truly blessed to have had him and the entire Capers family in my life..even for a brief time.

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Judge Capers since 1981. I was so sad when my daughter called me and told me of his passing. I loved him as a friend, and have fond memories of working together both in his capacity as an assistant district attorney and judge. RIP Bobby.

Mr. Bobby was an awesome man; it was an honor and a privilege to be his caregiver. I was assigned to him in March of last year and have loved listening to his stories & adventures, learning a lot of his wisdom in many different things and giving him the best care possible. I will very much miss my buddy!

Sherron and Family: It is with deep regret and sorrow that Florence and I while scanning obits from the Nashville paper via the internet that we learned about Bobby's passing. Although it was about fifty years ago, it seems just like yesterday that we were welcoming Bobby to his new assignment at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) on Lebanon Road in Donelson. Bobby resigned his position as a Memphis Police Officer to move to Nashville and his family to Mt. Juliet. At TLETA, he was a very dedicated instructor and administrator of of training grant money. While serving there he embarked on his future career of becoming an attorney and subsequently serving the folks of Wilson County etc. as Judge. With Bobby's passing, the Law Enforcement Criminal Justice system has just gotten thinner in the ranks. May he "Requiescat in Pace" (Rest in Peace) and Sherron and Family, may God continue to be your Co-Pilot in these next trying days.
