Brenda Atkins Obituary

Brenda Faye Atkins

Brenda Faye Atkins passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her home. She was born January 19, 1963.

Brenda attended the Robertson County and Wayne County (Detroit) School Systems. She married Larry Atkins, and to that union, two children were born, Larry Donnell and Tamela. Later she began her work career at Collin and Aikman (13) years, Beesleys, Robertson County School System and Robertson County Jail.

She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Speed. She later united with Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Adairville, KY under the leadership of Reverend Fishback.

Brenda loved everyone and anyone that met her and loved her. Besides her sweet disposition, Brenda was known for her unfailing faith in God, even in her darkest hour.

Preceding Brenda in death were her parents: John and Mattie (Bont) Jones, and her husband, Larry Atkins.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories: son, Larry Atkins and daughter, Tamela Atkins, both of Springfield, TN; two grandkids, Za'myrion Atkins and Teasia Hardin; two sisters, Margaret Sawyers (Tommy) of Detroit, MI and Patsy Morris (Frank) of Springfield, TN; one brother, John Jones, Jr. (Dorothy) of Memphis; one aunt, Rowena Gardner; three stepchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, and Tianesha Atkins; five special friends, Crystal Atkins, Pinky, Janie Bowling, Elaine Northington and Veronica; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service was Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2 p.m., at Greater Faith Apostolic Church, with Sister Peggy Gardner, Eulogist. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Garden.
