Charles Akin Embry, Jr.

Nashville, TN

Charles Akin Embry, Jr., passed away on January 20, 2015.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Akin and Hermione Dunlop Embry, his sons, Steven Akin Embry and Jeffery Thomas Embry, and sister, Hermione Caroline Embry.

Survived by Charles Wiley (Beverly) Embry, 4 grandsons, 1 great-grandson, and daughters-in-law, Teresa Embry and Cortney Embry.

Charles entered the Navy straight out of high school. He graduated from the University of Alabama. He accepted positions with Dalton Country Club and Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club as the golf professional. He spent 28 years working for metro. He ended his golf career on the Senior Golf Tour.

Visitation with the family will be held 1 until 3 p.m. Thursday, January 22, at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January, 23, 2015 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice.

What an honor it was to be able to not only take care of Charles but for him to become family. He was a man of few words but had a heart that was so BIG on the inside. I will never forget him and he will be missed!
