David Blair Obituary
Brentwood, TN
Age 75, was called Home on September 17, 2016. David, a graduate of MTSU, was an educator and coach in McMinnville; Cookeville; Hartselle, AL and Nashville. He was an active member of Judson Baptist Church. David loved much and was much loved. He will be missed by his family, church family and all who knew him.
"Special Thanks" to his caring doctors at Vanderbilt - especially Drs. Deepak Gupta and Sharon Shen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Frances Blair; and son, Jefferson Blair.
He is survived by wife, Donna Grammer Blair; daughters, Kristin Blair and Bethany Mann (Dan); granddaughters, Lucy, Molly, Rosie & Sophia Roberts; sister, Jean Underwood (Stephen); brother, Fred Blair (Gwen); and step mother, Stella Blair.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road, and Thursday 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Judson Baptist Church, 4900 Franklin Pike. Graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro. Family & Friends will serve as Pallbearers.

I played baseball for Coach Blair at Hartselle and became friends with he and his wife, Donna. I am sorry to learn of his passing. He and Donna were a good example of a loving couple and my wife and I learned a lot from them. - Sincerely, Butch Blankenship

My heart is heavy after learning the passing of Coach Blair. I played football under Coach Blair at McMinnville Central High School. He was a dedicated man and a very positive strong influence on myself and others who had the great privilege of knowing him. May God bless you and the family during the sad days ahead but know that Coach Blair is smiling down from heaven from the good deeds and great man he was.

Today I was made aware of the passing of David Blair. I played football under Coach David Blair at McMinnville Central High School for the first two years he coached, 1965-1966. He was one of the greatest influences of my life, and I have been guided throughout the years by his example. My most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

I worked at Father Ryan High School in the main office while David was a Guidance Counselor there.....what a "sweet and Gentle-Man" he was. He always had a smile and a kind word! I know he will be missed deeply by his family and friends. I send my most sincere condolences for your loss of this "Gentle-Man!" IN THE 80S I WORKED WITH DAVID IN THE GUIDANCE OFFICE AT HILLWOOD. HE WAS ALWAYS A KIND, GENTLE MAN. WE ALL KNEW HIS APPRECIATION FOR JOHN WAYNE, HE WAS A FAMILY MAN TOO WITH WIFE AND CHILDREN ALWAYS FOREMOST IN HIS CONVERSATIONS. HE WAS A GOOD MAN.
