David Savage Chaffin

Lebanon - David Savage Chaffin, age 60, died on May 7, 2020 after an extended illness. David was born in Gallatin, TN and remained a hometown boy all his life.

Any gathering was more fun if David was there. He was always ready with an entertaining story or memory which he shared with family and friends alike. Many believe that David inherited his storytelling expertise from his dad, Willie Savage Chaffin, Jr who, along with his loving mother, Dorothy D Jameson Chaffin, preceded him in death.

David was blessed with an uncanny ability to put almost anything back together. For years, he operated Chaffin Mobile Marine and made many a mariner happy by repairing hundreds of boats in Sumner and surrounding counties.

David was a life time member of Gallatin First Baptist Church. He is survived by the love of his life, Ronda Chaffin, daughters Kimberly Grace Chaffin (DeWayne Pruett), Katie Nicole Chaffin, two step children - Matt (Twila) Keep and Maggie (Daniel West), grandchildren - Aja Breen, Braylen, Dylan, Jaxon, Cason, Lorelei, Mila, and Phoebe, cherished caretaker Phoebe Kuskowski, four siblings - Jill (Barry Feldman), Ann (David Wyllie), Bill, and Susan (Alan Owens). David also leaves behind many cousins and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of David's life will be held at a future date at Gallatin First Baptist when conditions are safe. Contributions, gifts or flowers are discouraged, but the outpouring of sympathy continues to be greatly appreciated by the family at the funeral home web site and on David's Facebook © page.
