David Streiff Obituary

STREIFF, David Owen Age 73 of Antioch, TN. Born October 27, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas, passed away February 5, 2010. Survived by wife, Carmen Streiff; sons, Raymond Streiff of Nashville, TN, David Streiff, Jr., of Granbury, TX and his loving wife Lorri, and Peter Streiff of Smyrna, TN and his loving wife, Michelle; sister, Celeste Rose Hammond of Pasadena, CA; nephew, Sean Hammond of Pasadena, CA. Also survived by many loving grandchildren, Tara Streiff of Benton, KY, Adrick Streiff of Ft. Riley, KS and his loving wife, Michelle and Nicholas Streiff of Marion, AL, Lucas Streiff and Lauren Streiff of Smyrna, TN, Jessica Streiff of Chattanooga, TN; and great grandchildren, Ethan Diego, Trinity O'Neil and Gavin Owen Streiff of Grandbury, TX; further survived by loving grandchildren, Abby and Megan Williams of Smyrna, TN. David graduated from Wichita High School East in 1954. David was a Retired Military Veteran of the United States Army and United States Air Force. He retired in 1976 as an Air Force Senior Master Sergeant after a distinguished career with many Commendations in the Army Signal Corps, Air Force Bombers, Missiles and Nuclear weapons. His passion was the love for his wife Carmen, his family and Rock and Roll. He was an honors graduate from Wayne College in Goldsboro, NC. David was a member of Phi Theta Kappa with degrees in Electronic and Industrial Engineering. David last worked as a Consultant for Cumberland Machine, in Nashville, prior to retirement at age 69. His passion for traveling, coupled with Rock and Roll, led him, Carmen, and grandchildren to travel around the world. Places such as Australia, the U.K., Belgium, Denmark and France became their favorites. Their passion for George Thorogood and the Destroyers, gave them the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest, meet many friends and create unforgettable memories. David's life long ambition was to be a friend and hero to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He hopes he succeeded. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road by Robert Mullins. Interment Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with military honors. Rather than flowers, David wished that any donations would be made to the Streiff family charity, the Brittany Suhler Foundation. Visitation Monday 4 - 8 p.m. at WOODBINE FUNERAL HOME, HICKORY CHAPEL, Directors, 615-331-1952. Still Family Owned.
