Dorothy Hisako Egi

June 25, 2017 Dorothy, born and raised in the Delta area to Tane and Charles Ikuji Sofye, passed away on June 25, 2017 at the age of 96 years old. She lived most of her adult life in Tracy raising four children and working at the Duel Vocational Institute. In 1993, she moved to Sacramento to be near her children. She is survived by her children Keiko, Steven (Junko) and David as well as her grandchildren Jori (Glen), Jillian, Kelsey, Michael, and great-grandchildren Brendan and Bryce. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Tatsuo Egi (June 1993), and daughter Carolynne Akiko (December 2008). Dorothy lived a rich life travelling to Japan and Hawaii numerous times as well as throughout Europe. She enjoyed the arts and crafts and tried her hand in quilting, beading, and painting. She was not one to sit idle. Pursuant to her wishes, a private memorial service will be held. Please send any Koden in her memory to the charity of your choice.
