Douglas DUKE Obituary

DUKE, Douglas EarleAge 86 of Nashville, TN, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born in Nashville on April 11, 1924 to the late Andrew and Gertrude Duke. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna of 60 years; sons, Robert Earle Duke (Donna) and Alan Douglas Duke (Suzanne R.); daughters, Charlotte Ann Reifsnyder and Dianna Elaine Fielder (Donald Wayne); daughter-in-law, Teresa Randolph; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Andrew Duke; sister, Mamie Louise Sharp. Mr. Duke was a believer, generous and loving grandfather, graduate of Vanderbilt University and an electrical engineer for NES. He will be remembered as a radio and internet evangelist, in which he emailed bible verses daily for 20 years, and worked with radio stations to spread the love of Christ. Funeral services will be on Friday December 3, 2010 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery, where grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
