I was deeply saddened when I learned about Betsy's passing. I barely knew her since she was already suffering from the disease when I met her but my few meetings with her, it was evident she was sweet and loving. She was so devoted to you Herb and her 2 sons Ben and Pete. She raised two wonderful sons. I am blessed to be the other mother to Pete. Unfortunately, I could not be with your family during her last rites but I'm glad the rest of our family made it.
May you find comfort by the love and prayers of family and friends. Yes, we can now pray to her for she is now in the company of Angels in Heaven.

I was so blessed to have Betsy for a wife for 45 wonderful years...she was a true blessing, and kept me on a path of goodness for all those years...our sons Ben and Peter were so fortunate to have her for their mother...she taught them goodness and kindness, and was their refuge when i was on the warpath with them. I hated to see her suffering with early onset alzheimer disease. When she found out what she had, she was very down, knowing it was a death sentence. On the day i told her, we were on our way to weekly mass when i said to her, 'Betsy, i know you have been dealt a very bad hand, but you should offer up your suffering to come in reparation for your sins.' Without hesitation, she said, "okay, i will." And from that moment on, she never wavered, never complained, and just accepted her fate. It was almost 4 more years before she succumbed to the disease. It was really something to witness for me...she was so strong in all of it.
I know she is in a place now so beautiful none of us can imagine it. And now, instead of praying for her, i pray TO her. I love you, Betsy. You were and are the Love of my life.

Herb, I am praying for you and your family as you celebrate Betsy's life and release her to her eternal home. You have been so devoted to her, it will be difficult to develop your new normal. I pray for peace that passes all understand as you begin this leg of your journey without Betsy. It was a privilege to be her nurse. I am so sorry for your loss but thankful she no longer suffers. God bless you and yours.

Betsy did what we all want to do and that is to get to the other side. She took the long road and paved the way for all of us. Her journey has finally ended. What a sweet soul she was. I'm sure she is resting in peace now.

Herbie, Ben and Pete, Betsy was sweet and kind, embracing our family from the start calling our parents Mom and Dad with genuine love and affection. I think of her in her soft pastels at our many family gatherings clearing dishes, washing and drying with the smile that was her sweetness.Herb, together, with her more gentle nature, you raised two wonderful sons who brought you daughters and grandchildren she was proud to love and nurture. Your caring for her these last three years has been an example of courage and fortitude of which I have seen in you, my older brother, and felt so blessed to know. Ben and Pete, your Mom verbally recognized the achievements of her many nephews and nieces, however, she could not of been more proud of the both of you. She loved you dearly.May God bless you all with the sweetness of loving memories of wife and mother. She is greatly missed. So is her Coca Cola cake and Thanksgiving sweet potatoes.Jeanne and Pat
