Nashville - Ellen Lee Abbott, age 56 of Nashville, TN passed away January 11, 2021 after injuries sustained in an accident. Visitation will be 10:00AM - 12:00 Noon Friday, January 15, 2021 open for all guests. Due to the pandemic, a Celebration of Life Service to follow with family and close friends. I worked with Ellen in the criminal justice/substance abuse field for over 12 years. During that time, I saw her work and the results that resulted in helping so many people struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. She directly impacted lives and helped heal many families. She had such a spirit to help others and find solutions to problems/obstacles in order to be able to help others. She helped us get the Morgan County Residential Recovery Court established in 2013 and grow over 7 + years. As seen in this photo, she was so excited to get the Women’s Residential Recovery Court established this year. The best laugh - a huge heart - and, she was truly someone that became like family to many including me. She gave great advice and I looked up to her in many ways. To Ellen’s family and loved ones, I am praying for you. We will miss her deeply. She truly made the world a better place.
