Harold Hix Obituary
Harold Bushong Hix, age 73 of the Martin's Chapel Community, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 23, 2015 at 2 p.m., at the Martin's Chapel Methodist Church, with Dr. Apelo Poe and Pastor Kenny Hix officiating. Burial followed in the Martin's Chapel Cemetery, with Rusty Hix, Matthew Mitchell, Peyton Hix, Tim Moulton, Todd Hix and Jeff Wilson serving as Pallbearers. Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 4-8 p.m., and at Martin's Chapel Church on Monday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m.
Mr. Hix was born May 28, 1941 in Macon County, TN to the late Hubert and Lorrena Kemp Hix. He was a self-employed carpenter and member of Martin's Chapel Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hix is preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Pat Wilson Hix; sons, Richard (Amber) Hix and Brandon (Amy) Hix, both of Springfield, and Kenny (Renee) Hix of Cedar Hill; daughter, Tonya (Adam) Mitchell of Greenbrier; brother, Larkin (Joyce) Hix of Hartsville; grandchildren, Justin Miles, Russell Bushong Hix, Cassy Louise Hix, Peyton Shawn Hix, Macy Lorraine Hix, Matthew Adam Mitchell and Mackenzie Aline Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Brody Russell Hix and Eli Morgan Hix.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Martin's Chapel Methodist Church.
