Harry Dillon Obituary

DILLON, Harry EarlBorn August 18, 1924 and died February 16, 2009. Age 84. Life-long Nashville Resident. Graduate of Cohn High School. WWII Service in Europe with Army Quartermaster Corp. Returned to Nashville and worked in Data processing for First American National Bank until retirement in 1979. Member of Brook Hollow Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Vegie Dillon; sister, Marie Monks; brother, Louis Dillon. Survived by his brother, George A. Dillon; son, Arnold (Angela) Dillon; granddaughter, Kelly Dillon; grandson, Casey Dillon. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Gholson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gerald Mansfield, Mark Delaney, James Coode, Leon Mansfield, Jr., Leon Mansfield III, Robert Mansfield, Doug Holcomb, Wayne Dillon and Gary Dillon. Visitation will be Wednesday 4- 8 p.m. and Thursday 12:30 p.m. until service time at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike, (615) 352-9400.

Harry hired me in 1962 and was my first real "boss" .. He was a significant contributor in teaching me how to be a leader - He was a good man and I am sorry he has passed. The last time I saw him was 1985 where he joined myself and two other former employees (of FANB) for a brief reunion ..
