Herbert Bollinger Obituary
Herbert Clayton Bollinger, Sr., age 81 of Goodlettsville, died Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, January 3, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Bollinger was born September 11, 1933 in Robertson County to the late Prentice and Vinnie Lee Thacker Bollinger. He was a graduate of Springfield High School and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bollinger was a retired lab technician from Dupont. He enjoyed birdwatching and all of his pets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Lee Bollinger; his brother, Bud Bollinger; and his sisters, Ruth Cook, Lola Mae Bollinger, and Betty Allen.
Mr. Bollinger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vivian Helton Bollinger, and his son, Herbert Clayton "Clay" Bollinger, Jr., both of Goodlettsville.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
