I was in the BFA Program at Memphis State with J Karen and I saw her perform one of the most moving pieces of theatre I've ever witnessed. My thoughts and prayers are with her and all of her family and extended family. Maggie Rumble Rasnick

I've followed her career off an on since I graduated from Maplewood. She was one of the most talented people I've known. Theatre, comic improvisation and radio. I loved her distinctive voice. I'll never forget her role in Ain't Misbehavin. She may never know how many people missed her.

Karen and I were best friends from the first through the sixth grades. We were in the same classes at Murrell Elementary School. Although we were very competitive, we were each other's greatest advocate. Later, we were in the same high school sorority, Lambda Iota Theta Sorority, Inc. We also were sorors in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I will miss my dear friend. May she grace heaven as she graced those on earth that loved her dearly. RIP my dearest Karen.
