James Carl Cannon

Nashville - James Carl Cannon was born on January 17, 1948 and passed away on November 25, 2017. He is preceded in death by parents John Robert and Mary Auston Cannon, and his sister-in-law Carol Ann Cannon.

Carl is survived by his wife Carla Eads Cannon and children John Auston and Elizabeth Grace Cannon. He is also survived by his brothers John (Andrea), Tom, Pat (Sandy) and Chris (Paula), niece Jennifer (Jonathan) Wheeler, and nephews Brandon and Ryan Cannon.

Carl was born in Fairfield, AL. The Cannon family moved to Philadelphia and later to Nashville. He went to Christ the King through eighth grade, graduated from Father Ryan in 1966, and attended Georgia Tech. Carl obtained his Master Electrician's license and worked as an electrical contractor throughout his career, mainly in the healthcare construction industry.

He was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Donelson, TN. Carl was very proud of his children who were educated in and graduated from the Catholic school system at St. Bernard's, Father Ryan and St. Cecilia.

Carl loved the game of golf. He enjoyed playing at Hillwood as a teenager and finally at Old Hickory Country Club. He was passionate about music and enjoyed collecting albums. He also had an extensive arrowhead collection.

Visitation and memorial service will be at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home in Donelson. Visitation hours are 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 1st, and 9:30am to 11: 00am on Saturday, December 2. The memorial service will follow at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 tributes at hibbettfh.com
