Jim was an accounting student of my dad, Henry Jones, while he attended Florence State Teachers College, now University of North Alabama. They maintained a warm friendship the rest of their lives.
I had the privilege to meet Jim when he attended my dad's 96th birthday. He helped me wash and dry the dishes!
He was the epitome of a Southern Gentleman.
For my family I extend
condolences. Jim is so very fondly remembered.
Sincerely,
Jan Cookie Jones Shultz

My husband and I would stop and converse with Mr. Cheatham on our walks in our neighborhood. He was always so kind, peasant, and sincere. He spoke fondly of his family and was very proud of each one. With a twinkle in his eye and determination in every step, he walked up and down the street, smiling and waving to his friends. He was our friend. A blessing and a tremendous loss to us in his passing, but a precious acquisition to heaven. Bless you, Mr. Cheatham. It was our privilege to have known you.
Our condolences.

Cindy and Jennifer - My heartfelt love goes out to both of you, and I do know what pain you must be feeling. Know that Jim is with the Lord and no longer in this world where there is pain. All my best to both of you.
