I met Jim when I was a young assistant district attorney and always enjoyed working with him. He was a gentleman who deserves credit for his selfless work as the Public Defender for many years. I saw him recently and had a chance to reminisce. He seemed very happy and particularly enjoyed his family.

I'll miss Mr. Havron. He was a wonderful man. I have good memories of listening to his stories about his life when he would drive his daughter Jess and I around in high school. He was one of the kindest and most open-minded individuals I've ever had the chance to know. My thoughts are with his family at this time of loss.

I was an Assistant Public Defender when Jim became head of the office in the 1960s. It was a pleasure to work with him and he was a dedicated advocate for our clients. His unfailing sense of humor and politeness under trying circumstances are the characteristics I remember most fondly.
