Janet Priscilla Perkins

PERKINS, Mrs. Janet PriscillaAge 66 of Dickson, TN. August 14, 2008 at Centennial Medical Center. Wife, mother and friend. A native of Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Joel Moody and Dimple Naomi McCallister Smothermon. She was the granddaughter of the late Dr. B. T. Smothermon, a Methodist minister. Also preceded in death by her sister, Jo Claire Ervin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dickson. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, the Rev. Horace Perkins, Jr. of Dickson; her sons, Phillip (J. P.) Perkins (Evelyn) of Dickson, Christopher Perkins (Karen) of Ocala, FL, Horace Perkins III (Tammy) of Dickson and Joel Perkins (Lisa) of Dickson; her brother, Wilbur Smothermon (Judy) of Murfreesboro, TN; her grandchildren, Sabrina, Zachary, Caleb, Georgie, Josie, Paxton, Palmer, Neyland, Horace IV and her great-granddaughter, Savannah Renee. Her remains are in the care of the Taylor Funeral Home, Dickson, TN where visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, August 17th at 4 p.m., from the First United Methodist Church of Dickson, with Bishop Dr. W. W. Morris and Rev. Allen Weller officiating. The family will receive on Sunday, beginning at 3 p.m. at the church. Active Pallbearers will be family. Honorary Pallbearers will be ministers and wives of the Tenn. Conference of the United Methodist Church, Rev. Bill Barger, Rev. Bob Truitt, Rev. Dean Guy and close friend, Leon Crews. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery, Ragan Addition.
