Jessie Parrish Barriger

Franklin - Age 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 24, 2018. Jessie was born on April 27, 1924 in Hickory, KY.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, William J. Barriger; her parents, Jesse and Irene Parrish and her grandson, Zachary Barriger.

She is survived by her two children, Phyllis Fitts and Mark Barriger (Linda); Jessie was lovingly known as "Mur" to her grandchildren, Leigh Fitts, Samuel Fitts (Melissa) and Michael Barriger (Rachel); and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Henry, Pippa and Charlie Fitts.

Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and a light to all who knew her. She lived life to the fullest. She was always eager to participate in numerous activities with her friends. During World War II, she worked for the war effort as a riveter assembling aircraft equipment in Detroit, Michigan. She and her husband raised their family in Paducah, Ky. After retiring from Sears in 1984, she and her husband relocated to Nashville, TN. Jessie was a devout Christian, a member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ and former member of Broadway Church of Christ in Paducah, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road, Nashville, TN, at 1 p.m. with 1 hour visitation prior to the service. Interment Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, from 4-7 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, Directors, 615-331-1952.
