Kyle Scott Bagwell

Kyle Scott Bagwell, age 26 of Goodlettsville, TN, died Monday, October 14, 2013 in Nashville.

He was born April 10, 1987 in Springfield to Berlin Scott and DeAna Oakley Bagwell of Goodlettsville. Kyle was a Christian of the Baptist faith, he worked in retail sales. He graduated in 2005 from John Paul II High School where he excelled in football and basketball, later attending UT Knoxville and MTSU, he was a member of the ATO Fraternity and was active in recovery circles in Middle Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Springfield Baptist Church, with his grandfather, Dr. Jerry Oakley, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, with Carden Bagwell, Walt Bagwell, Brett Bagwell, DeMichael Crawley, Winder Buchanan, Golden Tate, Chuck Woosley and Daniel Alley serving as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Robertson County Funeral Home tonight from 4-8 p.m., and again on Friday at the church from 9-11 a.m.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Berlin Scott and DeAna Bagwell of Goodlettsville; his sister, Kristin Blair Bagwell of Goodlettsvile; fiancée, Lacey Blair Lowe of Nashville; grandparents, Juanita and Vincent Bagwell of Springfield, Dr. Jerry and Brenda Oakley of Bowling Green, KY; aunts and uncles, Valerie and Dr. John Cloud of Little Rock, AR, Vince and Debbie Bagwell of Springfield, Chris Bagwell of Goodlettsville, Keith Bagwell of Springfield; cousins, Walt (Liz Morrow) Bagwell, Brett (Hannah) Bagwell, Carden Bagwell, Lauren (Micah) Wiegal, Katherine Cloud, and his unborn son, Grayson Scott, expected to be born in January, 2014.

The family request that memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Heights or NCMC Foundation, Kyle Bagwell Scholarship Fund. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home, (615) 384-0036.

Feel the need to reach out to you- My son Riley was at Cumberland Heights with Kyle the first of June-- he and Kyle were roommates along with Jordan. On a family Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting your wonderful son . We just learned about Kyle's passing yesterday and Riley is just heartbroken. He considered Kyle a dear friend. Kyle helped him and was instrumental in keeping Riley on the right track for a few months. Riley has had a setback and will be returning to Cumberland Heights soon. He shared with us that he's afraid to go because Kyle won't be there with his words of encouragement - when I met Kyle, he was so excited to tell me about his baby that was coming! Enjoy that little miracle and think of Kyle when you hold him!! Riley is taking this news very hard- there is a bond formed at CH that only those that need it can understand. My heart was broken when I heard the news about Kyle. He was one of my first friends in high school. Him and our friends shared many lasting memories together that I will never forget. I grew up with Kyle, but lost touch with him over the years. He was one of the most fun people to be around that I ever knew. So many gravitated towards Kyle because of his incredible personality. Not many can light up a room like Kyle could. It will be impossible for anyone who knew him to forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bagwell family during these tough times.
