On this Thanksgiving I am reminded what a great cook you were. And also very thoughtful. One time when I came to visit you asked what time I was getting up. You said anytime was alright, you just wanted to know so you'd have a hot breakfast fixed. Love and miss you.

Uncle Lewis would tell me about his life experiences. And it was so interesting. In Nov. 1951, he crossed the Atlantic on a troop ship. He told me how blustery and cold it was but also how serene it was sitting on the top deck at night surrounded by total darkness. One night the Queen Mary passed He described how beautiful the ship was all lit up. He said they were close enough he could even make out people. He was stationed in England for 2 1/2 years. Learning to adjust to cold rainy days and hot tea. Which for a southern boy was quite the adjustment! Uncle Lewis was a good decent man who always helped others. I'll miss him so much. Susie
