Lorenzo Parente

Brentwood, TN

Age 78. March 15, 2014. Preceded in death by parents, Antonio & Rosaria Parente and four brothers. He was a professional wrestler and founder and owner of Lorenzo's Italian Restaurant.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Christine "Dina" Parente; children, Tony (Karen) Parente, Rosie (Tony) Frazier & Michael (Lori) Parente; grandchildren, Tony & Nicholas Frazier, Sydney & Hailey Parente and Christian Parente; brothers & sisters and other family in Italy.

Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 188 Thompson Lane.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church by The Rev. Joseph Patrick Breen.

Interment Christ Church Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers: Tony Frazier, Carl Roller, Shannon Gallant, Jason Thurman, Cliff Bowlds & Sean Gallant.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Edward School. Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel Directors, (615) 331-1952. Still Family Owned

Just found out of his passing. I first knew Lorenzo in El Paso, Tx. We were on the wrestling card for that evening. Bobby Hart, Cyclone Negro were also present at the time. We were wrestlers coming in from Mexico, such as Tony Barbetta, Angel Negro, and myself, Medico Satanas. We then traveled to Oklahoma, alongside Gran Markus, Bobby Jaggers and other greats. Lorenzo was an outstanding individual, very kind, and funny at times. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest in Peace my friend. Truly missed. Rey "Medico Satanas" Moreno.

Dina, I just saw this by chance. A group on "I remember Nashville" on Facebook talked about you all, the restaurant and by the end of the post, I got to watch Lorenzo wrestle - I never saw him 'at work!' Hope you are well. Just learned of the passing of one of my favorite wrestlers as a boy and the BEST Italian food in Nashville. I was wondering if the restaurant was still in existence when I learned of his passing. May your comfort come more theses days and memories turn into a smile.

I met Lorenzo when I was a regular customer at his restaurant. Eating on Friday nights at Lorenzo's was a tradition for me. I remember his wife Dina and brother-in-law did all the cooking and everything was homemade and delicious. When he closed the restaurant to retire and spend time with their grandchildren I was heartbroken but was happy for them. He was such a nice man. My condolences to his family.

So sad to hear of Lorenzo passing. Travis and I always enjoyed getting to visit with him when they came to Athens. He will be missed and lots of prayers for the family and especially Dina.
