This is Zhongze (George) Li. If I guess correctly, Dr. Crenshaw was the grandson of Rev. John Crawford Crenshaw who worked in Chinkiang, Kiangsu (aka Zhenjiang, Jiangsu), China in the beginning of 20th century. Dr. Crenshaw visited Chinkiang with three children in 2010 and received a warm welcome by the local people. He also brought some vintage references and a book about his family in the trip. His family enjoyed the visit of the Memorial Hall of Pearl Buck (Nobel Prize Winner in Literature in 1938 who spent 14 years in Chinkiang). One of my friends hosted his family and still remembered them vividly! If you are the family members of Dr. Crenshaw, please contact me at [email protected]. I would like to share a vintage photo of his grandmother and an article written by his grandfather I came across in a missionary journal. Looking forward to the email!

His legacy remains- just last week I had a patient recall a visit with Dr Crenshaw that left us both laughing and in tears. He was one in a million and left an impression on so many lives. I´ll never forget him.

I worked with him in cath lab at St. Thomas. He was a great doctor and genuinely nice person. I know he loved his kids. I would often ask about having triplets when I was having my triplets. God bless your family.

I know Dr. Crenshaw not as the great doctor but as a great dad. We traveled with our kids on two incredible school trips to China and Greece a few years back. I remember his easy way, great sense of humor and intellectual curiosity. So sorry to hear this sad news. My deepest sympathy to the Crenshaw family.

I am sad to hear of his passing. He has shaped a generation of cardiologists while working at Vanderbilt, including me. He empowered us and made us feel like we could make a difference. He also taught us to do the right thing. We lost a great man, but he lives on in all of us. Godspeed, Dr Crenshaw. Peace be with you and your family.

I offer my sympathy and prayers to Marshall's family. He leaves an amazing legacy words cannot express. His warm welcome to me when I came to Vandy, and became his clinic nurse, made my transition a joy. He will always be dearly beloved by his patients, and those of us privileged to work with him. He will be greatly missed.

I, along with so many other cardiology trainees, have had the profound honor of learning from Dr. Crenshaw. He is already deeply missed for his clinical knowledge, natural procedural skills, the way he can make the most difficult task seem easy, and most importantly his warm presence to colleagues and patients. I will never forget the way his eyes lit up when discussing his family and our recent solar eclipse. He will remain a presence in our hearts and memories. My sincerest condolences to his many friends and family....this will be such a hard time because he was so wonderful.

Deepest heartfelt sympathy to Mrs. Crenshaw, his beautiful children that he talked about many times & his entire family. Dr.Crenshaw was a special physician, a special friend & a special human being. I've known him for over 30 yrs & he saved my life when I had a heart attack so u can understand why my husband & I treasured him as a friend as well as a doctor. We loved his sense of humor as well as his seriousness & his passing has left a hole in our hearts. We send our deepest sympathy to all who loved him.

I have been Dr. Crenshaw's patient for almost ten years, and I am so sad to hear of his passing. I always enjoyed his dry sense of humor during our office visits. He was one of those doctors that made you feel like you mattered. Again, I am so sorry and I hope the memories of the good times and of his humor will bring some comfort during this time of grief.
