Maurice ACREE Obituary



ACREE, JR., M.D., Maurice M.Was born in Macon, GA, in August, 1928, the son of Maurice M. Acree, Sr. and Clara Carter Acree. He attended Lanier Jr. High, Baylor High School, and Vanderbilt. In the Navy, he flew jets off the USS Midway during the Korean War. Graduated UT Medical School and became the first pathologist in Obion County's history, later practicing medicine at Baptist Hospital and Pathlab, Inc. in Nashville. He was State Surgeon of the TN Nat'l Guard, an ATO, a member of Richland Country Club, and Rotary Club. Founded the Acree Chair in small animal research at UT Vet School. He is survived by sons Don and Bill Acree, and two daughters, Cindi Marshall and Carmen Haynes Acree. www.scopolamineisland.com., 615-663-0580.
