Michael Geracioti was a hell of an attorney. I knew he was smart the day I met him as he had Doctors in the family. He empathized with his clients and made them confident that the right outcome would occur-- which it did. He made me realize there really are good lawyers out there. He was the driving force behind the idea that it was ok for my daughter to be an attorney (1L at Harvard). Rest in peace my friend.

When I left the firm a few years ago, Michael gave me a bottle of good whiskey with a note that read: "After 18 years of exceptional service at Levine, Orr & Geracioti, you undoubtedly have many memories of your time here. Please accept this gift as a token of out esteem, which, hopefully, will assist you in erasing them." Completely typical of him to be simultaneously gracious and wicked. The bottle did not work - I retained my memories of Mike and will continue to remember him most fondly. He was a gentle force of nature. My most sincere condolences.

Dear Family of Mr. Geracioti
I was saddened to hear of your loss and reading this today. God doesn't make mistakes. I remember this attorney, by working as a part-time receptionist in the firm. My diction greatly improved by saying the attorneys' names, especially his. When he walked into the office doors you sensed his presence of respect, but not demeaning in any way. A gentleman in every sense of the word.
To Mrs. Geracioti, you will understand by and by. God will reveal to you alone. Be strong and of good courage. Stand firm and steadfast!
Rest in peace, Mr. Geracioti.

Mike was a true original - smart, funny, iconoclastic, and as big-hearted as they come. I am sorry for your loss; this was far too young for a guy with such a buoyant spirit.

Maribeth, I keep writing things and then erasing them. There's nothing I can say that will make anything make sense. He's too young, too cool, too great a guy. You guys grew up together in many ways, built a family together. You did so much right, and then this. It's just plain wrong. I am so sorry. I know it is a big hole. I guess all I can say is that you had a really big love, and that will never change. Before I erase everything and start over again, I guess all I can really think to say is I am sorry. Life will go on. You will eventually be happy again. Until then, I am one of many sending you best wishes. Sara
