Bobby's parents and my parents were Nashville neighbors in the early 1940's when he was a child. Then in the 1950's, he designed our home in Macon, Georgia, where I grew up. We thought so much of the Andersons. Condolences upon his passing.

Lesley and I knew Robert for many years and remember him very fondly. When we first moved to Nashville we bought a Robert Anderson designed home. When we decided to build a new home we never considered another architect. He was a great architect and friend. We will miss him always.

It was through Emily, not architecture, that I first met Robert. I was in graduate school, and there was this cool guy in neat cars that was hanging around. I think it was a black Porsche…no, may have been a BMW Bavaria. At any rate, the cars were cool and so was he. Shortly thereafter, I learned about the great houses he was designing and began to dream of having one some day. That dream came true, along with the great friendship of Robert and Emily. I miss him and his spirit gigantically.

Robert's remarkable gift for architecture has graced our lives every day for 30-plus years. Working with him ignited a love for design and building houses, as well as a wonderful friendship with him and Emily. His life will continue to be celebrated by those us fortunate enough to call his creations "home."
