This popped up on my memories this morning and my heart sank to my stomach like it just happened .

Dr Jackson was a very stern Dr to work for but he truly believed in taking care of his patients with all his knowledge with a 100% knowing he did all he could do for your health
I personally am glad I got to work for him as this made me a better caretaker and person .

Dear Diane and Family: We were so shocked and saddened to learn of Bob's death. He was, and still is, the best doctor I ever had. I often think of him and the outstanding care he gave me. You two were wonderful to Middletown, John XXII school and Fenwick. The Dickson Community is very fortunate to have you and to have had Bob's care. We will keep you in our prayers.

A Letter to the Dickson Community:

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I write this letter to the Dickson Community. Your overwhelming expressions of sympathy and support following the death of my husband, Dr. Bob Jackson, have touched my heart deeply. To all of you, who were his patients, please know that you made his practice of medicine a joy that fulfilled his purpose-driven life. He considered it an honor and a privilege to serve as your physician and regarded you as a friend.

I will always cherish your love that you have shown for him and expressed to my family during this challenging time.

Sincerely,
Diane

I was shocked and saddend to hear of Dr. Jackson's passing. I started going to him about 4 years ago and quickly listed him as my primary doctor. I appreciated his direct but kind advice, as well as his bedside manner. He was good to me and my family, and he was good to Dickson. My condolences to his family, his staff, and his associates. He will be greatly missed. Troy Breeden - White Bluff

Dear Dr. Robert Jackson Family,

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Jackson's passing. He was our family doctor and we loved him dearly. Even though we both work in Nashville and do not even live in Dickson anymore, we always came to Dickson to see him, because he was the BEST. When I worked at Horizon, I always knew to cross my "T's" and dot my "I's" when I had one of Dr. Jackson's patients, because he cared about everything about them, and as his patients nurse, he expected and got 110% out of you for his patients, his loving caring bedside manner and attention to detail is why I chose him as my family doctor and when I met my future husband, he already had Dr. Jackson as his primary MD. Once when I had to wait awhile for him to see me, he felt bad and offered me some lunch, a drink, a snack. He cared about everything even his patients wait times. We are still shocked and grieved by his loss. No other doctor will even come close to "our" Dr.Jackson. You all have our deepest sympathy and prayers with you during this difficult time.

Dr Robert Jackson's Family

We were broken hearted to learn about Dr Jackson. We had spent the week with two different families and were out of town until Saturday night.

Diane, we will always say that he was our personal doctor, the best of our lives. You and he always treated us so nice, and welcomed us to the Dickson area.

We will always remember you and "General Jackson".

Love,

To the Jackson family,
So sorry for your loss. Dr. Jackson will be missed. What a great caring physician. He helped me with one of my first codes on Main One. I can remember him asking me to borrow a Swedish belt[locked belt]so that he could tie himself to a tree while deer hunting. Also remember how thoughtful he was of his patients. He asked that the nurses not use the vending machine at the end of Main One because the noise woke his patients up at night. Who can forget Dr. Jackson sneezing when he made rounds because of roses being in a patient's room. Dr. Jackson was the best of the best.

July 18, 2009

To the Jackson family, Dr. jackson was truely a remarkable doctor. I worked with him for 16 years at Middletown hospital as well as him being my personal physician. I always trusted him and enjoyed bantering with him on MII. I am so sorry for your loss. Jo Nicely, Lakeland, Fla.

Dearest Diane and Family,
I can’t begin to express the sadness that overwhelmed me when I heard of Bobs passing on Monday. Although he was not a physician of mine, he was much more than that. I always saw Bob as a second father (by default of course since I was always at the house). He was such an unforgettable and influential man. He put a smile on the face of everyone that he came in contact with. The stories that he would tell, and the trips we would go on are unforgettable. Not to mention how helpful he was with my grandfather when he was ill. Just from growing up around him I learned the importance of always being there for others, even when its 2am and your beeper is going off. He was 110% devoted to his family, his profession, and his love of the outdoors all at once. Bob will always hold a place in my heart, and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
My deepest sympathy and sorrow goes out to the entire Jackson family.
Warmest Regards,
Michelle Sorrell

To Diane & The Jackson Family -

There are no words to fully describe the Special Person "Dr. J" was - and still is to many of us. All of the entries in this Guest Book are but a partial tribute to a man that shared care, compassion, and a smile with everyone he encountered.

The full measure of Dr. J's legacy can be seen through not only the thoughts and comments of everyone commenting here - but also through all of his patients, friends, associates, and not least - his entire Family. His smiles, fishing and hunting stories, medical expertise and dedication to excellent health care will be greatly missed - especially by me - because "Dr. J" was instrumental in saving my life...

Thanks for the privilege of knowing you Dr. J - and God Bless You and The Jackson Family.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was one of the pharmaceutical reps that called on him, and even though he would give you a hard time, he would laugh if you gave it back to him. He came to a program I had one time at the Nashville gun club. Although I was a horrible shooter, Dr. Jackson helped me to win a case of bullets. He loved his job, his patients, and his zeal for life and hunting. Loved him for all of that. I am praying for your family during this time, and am so sad for the entire family. The entire Jackson family is such an incredible legacy for the city of Dickson and the state of Tennessee. God Bless You All! Tonya Lance (Nashville, TN)

Dear Diane and Children,
Yesterday afternoon in the presence of his body, made Bob's death real for me. Everything you planned to honor him was flawless. Now that I have said my goodbyes, I am impressed with how much he packed in to such a short life. Now he is a breath of air or a drop of water outside where he would love to be and always near to you.
Thank you, Linda Walter.

Diane, his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters my heart goes out to you all at this time. While I only worked a short time with Dr. Bob at DMA as one of his assisting nurses I came to love and admire him so very much. He was not only one of the finest doctors I'd ever worked with but one of the kindest persons I've had the pleasure of getting to know. He was a truly loving husband, I saw that on so many occasions in the clinic with Diane. He was also a loving father that was so proud of all his children and his grandchildren.
I pray now that God will give you all comfort in the coming days and years. I will always love and miss him so much and , Dickson County will forever be lost without him. I know he's in God's loving care and we're all so blessed to have know him. With deepest symapathy. Debbie Deleary", White Bluff, Tn

I took my mom to see him once on a Sunday morn as she wasn't feeling well. He treated her infection and told her she had "pretty blue eyes".
The compliment made her feel as good as the medicine. Ha!
It was also sweet to see his wife as his nurse, and by his side. He will be greatly missed.
