W. CASTEEL Obituary

CASTEEL, W. JackWent to his rest with his Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after a long struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgie. In addition, he is survived by two sons, Lee and Bill Casteel, as well as Bill's wife Crystal, and granddaughter, Lilly. Jack and Georgie are both natives of Marietta, GA. Jack moved to Nashville in 1958 and Georgie in 1959, after a 15 month courtship. Jack came to Nashville to work for a temperature controls company and later went to work with Robertshaw Controls Company, where he served as a branch manager for 30 years. Having been raised on a farm, Jack loved gardening, and his favorite sports were hunting and fishing. He loved his church, Woodmont Baptist, and particularly his Sunday school class. His personal statement was "God abundantly blessed me by making Himself known to me, giving me a wonderful family that loves each other and other blessings too numerous to list." Jack requested that his remains be donated to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The Memorial service, conducted by Dr. John Roebuck, is to be held Sunday, April 29th at Woodmont Baptist Church, Woodmont Blvd. at Hillsboro Road at 2 p.m., with a reception following at the family's residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be made to Woodmont Baptist or the charity of your choice.
